OUR STORY

Although CAN Woodwork was established in Copenhagen in 2019, our history is a long journey with a starting point in Canada. Born in Canada with a hammer in his right hand, CAN Woodworks skilled cabinet maker David is the man behind the operation of the joinery. He is a very passionate and experienced skilled craftsman who works with the principles of good materials, good craftsmanship, and durable solutions. After many years of residence and work experience in Germany, Belgium and Copenhagen, the journey has recently led to Funen, where our third workshop has been established in Odense.

Here David works with the utmost care, exploring and developing the carpentry methods he has learned from Denmark, Canada and abroad. 

David's background spans from many years of experience from the production of furnishings within traditional joinery, cabinet making, and carpentry, shop fitting, and scenographic industries worldwide with projects in Paris, London, and Shanghai, amongst other.

Formerly, he was responsible for teaching and running the wood workshop at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. 

The company was first established in Brussels in 2011 and later in Copenhagen in 2019.
